Design Process
Here is a short glimpse of how we work with
you to go from design to the reality of your website.
Phase 1 - It all
starts with the Free Consultation. Here we sit down with you and
assess the scope of the Internet presence you want. We work out some
clearly defined goals, and learn as much as we need to about your
company to understand how to represent your company to the world of the
Internet. We can use your current company colours, any printed
materials from your company and your personal taste to learn how to
present your company on the Internet.
We typically ask you questions like:
-
What is your product or service?
-
Who are your customers?
-
Who is your competition and what sets your company apart from
them?
-
What are your business goals for the next 3 years?
-
What types of advertising has been working best for your
company?
This free consultation also allows you to
ask any questions you want about the Internet and our services. When
everyone has their questions answered, we come back to our office to
start the next phase.
Phase 2 - The
Design Conception phase begins after collecting as much information
as we can from our free consultation with you. We always try to balance
giving your website a unique look and feel, and an intuitive control for
ease of use. Your website should stand out from your competition, but
should never confuse the user. We will create some webpage mock-ups from
all the information we gathered in the free consultation, and present
them to you in a second consultation. At this point, you make any
changes to colour, design, look and structure. After any changes on your
part, we move to the next phase of the process, which is the technical
production of your website.
Phase 3 -
Technical Production is where the serious physical work on your
website happens. Both graphic design and programming happen
simultaneously, so that the look and the feel of your website work well
together. Some original pictures may have to be purchased or created,
which may have to be added to the final cost of your website. You will
own all final copyright and ownership rights to both the graphic side
and the program code side of your website. At the end of the technical
production phase, we will meet with you again for a final approval from
you before publishing your site.
Phase 4 -
Publishing your site happens once all testing and modifications have
been made from your review. Your website will be loaded to the hosting
site you already have, or one we will arrange for you. Your website will
be registered with the major search engines, and be available for the
whole world to see.
